Southern States Art League records, 1921-1950.

This collection consists of organizational records of the twentieth-century Southern States Art League. Included are correspondence, bulletins, membership lists, clippings and other printed items, press lists, records of prizes of annual exhibitions, financial records including lists of donors to the Woodward Award Fund, artist files, photographs, scrapbooks, exhibition catalogs, art school catalogs, and minutes.

The Southern States Art League was incorporated in 1921 in Charleston, S.C. Its purpose was to promote the contemporary arts of the region through exhibitions and recognition of artists.
